July 1, 2004:  Millennium Airship Inc. (MAS) announces the establishment of corporate offices at Bremerton National Airport in Port Orchard, Washington.   

 

Millennium Airship Inc.’s heavy-lift aircraft design concept, SkyFreighter, includes the innovative Integrated Thrust and Maneuvering Management System (ITAMMS) combined with ThrustWing technology which delivers complete controllability including vertical (VTOL) capability.  SkyFreighter™ will also be amphibious, opening unlimited possibilities for non infrastructure dependent shipment of cargo worldwide.

 

Full team of contractors for system design and integration, airframe, envelopes, flight systems and software, and propulsion system development and subsequent propulsion systems are identified and remain in tact.

 

June 13, 2005:  Millennium Airship was not one of the two winning contractors for the DARPA “Walrus” program, but was solicited by Lockheed Martin for possible collaboration on their airship design, specifically for ITAMMS. 

 

November, 2005:  Contracted by Lockheed Martin for preliminary design concepts for ITAMMS and its direct applicability to the Lockheed Martin design.

 

November, 2005:  Contracted by Lockheed Martin for market research in Canada.  This study concluded a much larger commercial market than anticipated.  Market potential was supported by MergeGlobal independent analyses.

 

April 2006:  DARPA “Walrus” program is cancelled due to US Congress decision to not fund the project in 2007. 

 

March 23, 2007:  Millennium Airship Canada Ltd. is formed with affiliated companies in Canada.  Initial planning suggests depot for Canada and Northern United States would be placed between Edmonton and Calgary. 

 

April 2007:  World Cargo Alliance Family of Logistics Networks and its over 1500 freight forwarders worldwide, in more than 125 countries and more than 400 world cities, formally reiterated their full endorsement of Millennium Airship.
